The Secret of Wealth - Goals

 Writing New Year’s Resolutions takes on new meaning when the New Year is right around the corner. Everyone gets in a rush and life suddenly becomes urgent.

It’s a Values thing. Everyone recognizes the value of living life to the fullest and getting back what we put in. The See-Saw effect of life is a balancing act. You give a little, you get a little. But, what if I told you it doesn’t have to be that way?

I was a young man when my Dad passed, late thirties is very young. Herb Person, my mother’s brother came into my life that year. He took me under his wing and taught me the importance of values in life.

 He loved me unconditionally.

 Uncle Herb taught me about priorities. He told me that there were certain priorities in life; A, B, C, and D. He taught me that God is A, Family is B, and the other priorities will take care of themselves. Period. That’s it. Those are the priorities that I needed to be concerned with, nothing else mattered.

 When Aunt Bernice called me, in tears, that she couldn’t get to the funeral if I didn’t take her, I had no choice. She fell under priority B. At age 82, she was very frail, living in assisted living in Portland, Oregon. I flew to Portland.

Uncle Herb taught me about business. He backed me up on a multi-million dollar deal. When it didn’t happen, becuase the borrower didn’t own the property, Uncle Herb taught me that I had back up. I had survival requirements, because he had my back. I was free to invest and make money. I had what I needed to get through life. 

 Returning from his funeral, I couldn’t get a flight to Denver, so I ended up in Florida working a $300K deal on a condo. This fly by land deal works. You create multiple streams of viable income working them one at a time, developing the next one as the first one flies. You’ve got income everywhere. And all of it, because Uncle Herbie has my back.

Priorities work.

 You set goals, you work toward your goals, and you make enough money to cover your sacks. That’s the way it happens. and When you get it right, you know it, because it’s all good and it all works.
